GROWING & MAKING: Farmed by all round great bloke, Nigel Rowe at his Mt Barker vineyard. The grapes are dry-grown, which helps concentrate flavour and aromas. Whole berries, fermented in open vats, hand plunged, basket pressed and 14 months in French oak. Medium bodied, spicey and pretty; this is sophisticated and savoury with plenty of dark fruit flavours accompanying all the white pepper and violets. Labelled as Syrah, rather than Shiraz to reflect the medium bodied, spice driven elegance of the wine.
Unfined, unfiltered; minimal mucking about. Vegan.
