GROWING & MAKING: 100% Merlot. Grown by Mick Hester, a champion guy, who farms between Boyup Brook and Bridgetown. Mick’s always sold his grapes to the bigger companies where they disappear into generic blends; I’m really proud to have put soemthing Mick grows into bottle. Fermented in open fermenters, hand plunged, gently basket pressed and then matured in a 3rd fill American oak barrel for just over a year. The US oak adds subtle hints of vanilla, as well as filling out the palate with a lush roundness. I told you it’s sexy! Bring Merlot back!
